BIOGRAPHY

Debby Phillips, a Certified Veterinary Practice Manager and 18 year veteran in the veterinary industry, has worked in every aspect of veterinary medicine, from customer service and nursing services to practice management.

Debby has performed practice management responsibilities in a variety of environments, including holistic, western, exotic and emergency, working with from 1 to 12 veterinarians per facility during her career. As the Director of Operations and Finance for Pets Unlimited in San Francisco, she was responsible for the development of monthly financial reports, financial presentations to the board of directors as well as in-depth profit center analysis.

Other challenges she has met during her career include: initiation of on-site accounting procedures (including on-site bookkeeping), workflow design in post-remodel and relocation environments, facility planning and maintenance, major equipment purchases (including digital radiology), retail center development, team building, development of continuing education programs, IT system creation and upgrades, major software conversions and upgrades, newsletter creation and development, internal/external marketing plans and objectives, client education programs as well as many others.

After beginning her career as a veterinary receptionist, Debby fell in love with the veterinary industry and found an environment in which she can utilize her business and analytical skills to their greatest potential. She has a genuine love for her chosen career and hopes to instill that passion in those she works with.

Debby shares her home and workspace with her two Pembroke Welsh Corgis (of the business name): Rory & Teagan as well as her cats: Toby, Nina, Spot and Willow. Additionally, she is a provider of Acupressure Massage Therapy for Animals.
